In-office whitening takes one visit of about 90 minutes and makes teeth up to eight shades lighter. It costs €250. A take-home kit is €140 on its own.
Before
We check your teeth first: whitening works on healthy teeth and gums. Fillings and crowns do not change colour.
During
A protective gel covers your gums, then the whitening gel works in three short rounds. It does not hurt; some people feel sensitive teeth for a day.
After
Avoid coffee, tea, red wine and smoking for 48 hours. Results last one to three years.
Not recommended during pregnancy or for children under 16.
